This past week in Jaco was so sweet! In Latin America the week leading up to Easter is called Semanta Santa which means Holy Week. So in Costa Rica a major Hub for this week is in Jaco, people from all over come to this small party/beach town to take a load off and have fun! So that opened a huge door for ministry during this week. It would give us an opportunity to share the true Gospel with a wide spectrum of people, both non-believers and believers, some practicing believers and some searching for truth. So during this week we got to hit the streets and do what we call ATL which is an acronym for “Ask The Lord” and we literally just ask God who he has for us to interact with rather it be a divine appointment or just telling someone that Jesus loves them. so the day before we hit the streets, we took a day to pray to prepare our hearts and minds for the day ahead allowing the Lord to search our Hearts, and speak to us so that we could be prepared and in the right spiritual space a we go out. So as i was doing this God gave me a word of what His intentions were for our squad this week as we went out Which was dope because it was so similar to a vision that another one of our squad mates had! So the word during my prayer time that the Lord spoke to me was REFRESHMENT in the same way that someone would feel a breeze when a window is opened in a hot, stuffy, muggy, and humid Enclosed room in the middle of summer. In Jaco it was as if the enemy had set up walls around the minds of the people from seeing all God had to offer. They knew about God and there was light in Jaco working but many had not tapped into all that God had to offer! He later reveled to me that he was going to use us to tear down the walls the enemy had set up so that thee breeze of the Holy Spirit could bring refreshment to the lives of those that He would send us too. Which was awesome because thats exactly what we seen when we went headed out! We had some that congregated on the top of a building interceding as some were out sharing with the city! So we had the prayers tearing down walls from the intercession group and the breeze of the Holy Spirit being blown by those on the streets! It was so beautiful to watch God move in this way through both groups. God used us during this week to reach not only Jaco but people from all over Costa Rica, ranging from Non-believers to believers, some practicing and some not so much, some in the middle of a spiritual journey looking for truth, and some just living there lives according to their own desires. He used us for those just living their lives thinking that the life Jaco had for them, and the the things that they were doing in order to survive was it. He sent us to share something new, something different, something true, something refreshing for those that felt trapped in a life of having to do things to make sure their family eats or just doing whatever it they perceived as normal. Sharing with them that there is better way, and God has better plans for them and that they don’t have to be products of their environment. That there is a caring and loving father willing to provide their every need. For those is bondage to religion and works, that God has grace for them and that He desired to see them live a life that was full of life and not shame. That the Father desired relationship with them and not condemnation. For those on a spiritual walk searching for truth He used us to show the validity and truth of His word as we gave them the full Gospel with power from the Holy Spirit that couldn’t be denied. As God prophesied and used us to heal and just glorify the power of His majesty to help increase their faith. God did so many wonderful things last week and I can’t wait to share my personal experience’s in my next blog!
